Where the hell has this girl been?

posted by Jamie at 12:07 pm.

Yet again, Meghan McCain has brought up another great point. It’s not a new point, nor is it very surprising, but it is definitely true. In her blog, Meghan McCain has come out and said how offensive and insulting Republican “strategist” Ann Coulter comes off. McCain states that “maybe her popularity stems from the fact that watching her is sometimes like watching a train wreck.”

Meghan McCain is slowing moving into the spotlight as a new young Republican who could be looking for political office on a national level. I wonder how here dad feels about all this.

At least one McCain got it right.

posted by Jamie at 8:11 pm.

Meghan McCain finally said what so many young Republicans have been thinking for the last few years. CNN is reporting today that Meghan, daughter of former Presidential candidate John McCain, is calling for Republicans to become more technologically savvy or risk losing more and more political relevance. She is exactly right. Without reaching out to the American people with such extremely popular tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and Blogs, the Republican party can forget dethroning Obama in 2012. The fact that Obama won the election with enormous contributions from young voters and the internet should be the only sign the Republican party needs to change their game plan. The Republican party cannot expect to gain any ground on the majority holding Democrats if their best and brightest cannot even operate a computer in the 21st century.

Here’s McCain’s idea of home computing.

Meghan McCain, you are completely right. Now, get out there and convince your father’s friends to take a class on computing skills. Even better, hire a homeless man to teach them, because chances are they could probably type better than our former President could. (on a computer, not a typewriter)

Both Barack Obama and John McCain will appear during halftime of Monday Night Football, in interviews conducted by “The Swami,” Chris “Back back back back shut the fuck up” Berman. Neither Obama’s Bears nor McCain’s Cardinals are playing tonight as the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Washington Redskins at 7:30 Central time on ESPN. McCain will be rooting for the home team Redskins, as in every election since 1936, when the Redskins have win their last home game before the election (with the notable exception of 2004) the incumbent party retains the presidency.

Get out them Terrible Towels.

Vladmir Putin to democracy: “I must break you”

posted by Charlie at 5:44 pm.

John McCain is smarter than George Bush.

(Well, that’s no revelation)

In 2001, George Bush “looked Vladimir Putin in the eye” and said, “I was able to get a sense of his soul. He’s a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country and I appreciate very much the frank dialogue and that’s the beginning of a very constructive relationship.”

In the first presidential debate, John McCain said, “I looked into Mr. Putin’s eyes and I saw three things — a K and a G and a B.”

John McCain was right (won’t hear me say that very often).

In yet another instance of then Prez, now Prime Minister Vlad’s quest for world domination, a Russian human rights lawyer, known for defending some of the Kremlin’s harshest critics was poisoned.

Poisoning? Gee, Charlie, that sure sounds familiar…

Viktor Yushchenko

Oh yeah, that…

Between suspicion of the poisonings, the jailing, and the murder, Vladimir Putin seems more and more to resemble this notable Russian:

No, Sarah Palin would be, “Ice Man,” I think.

Regardless, a Texas family with the last name Maverick has bone to pick the the McCain campaign. The Maverick Family, originally of San Antonio, has taken issue with McCain and Palin’s constant characterization of the senator as a “Maverick.” The word originated when one of the Maverick family’s ancestors opted against branding his cows, leading to unbranded livestock being referred to as “mavericks.” The term eventually came to mean someone who acted independently with no affiliation to a particular party or ideology. While the family has no bone to pick with the television show of same name, Mel Gibson, or Tom Cruise, they do seem peeved that McCain is running all over the place calling himself, “The Original Maverick.” He’s not, they are.

As a Republican candidate for President, you know you have issues when a family of Texas ranchers are pissed off at you. One has to wonder if he should have gone with a less overused campaign handle. Take a look at what other members of the political competition tried out:

Mitt “Viper” Romney
Mike “Jester” Gravel
Hillary “Wolf Man” Clinton

Frankly, I would be worried that all the constant allusions to his military service and use of the word “maverick” would just remind the electorate of this doozy.

“Keating economics” seeks to show America the truth

posted by Elle at 1:57 pm.

Obama’s camp came out with at 13-minute documentary today detailing the investigation of an economics scandal Jon McCain was involved in 18 years ago. The video is available at keatingeconomics.com and now, blogs across the nation:

The video is compelling enough, and should give way to much commentary and analysis leading up to tomorrow’s debates. It’s no surprise that a supporter of G.W. Bush would be involved in a financial scandal, and I applaud the Obama campaign for having the balls to make this video less than a month before election day.

Watch it for yourself and think for yourself, too. Then feel free to comment.
