BRC, Shoot Me Please!

BRC Photography originally started as a passion for taking photos with friends and family, simply capturing moments for a lifetime. The art of photography is much different from painting, drawing, or any other art form in that it centers attention on something already created artistically. BRC focuses on people and parts of the body that if not photographed could be overlooked and framed as just a pair of hands, legs and feet (with dope sneakers).

  • BRC captures the art of style and children’s expression.
  • At First Glance: girls are just playing dressup
  • The Complexity of it All: youth from the feet, adult growth in the attire up top.

BRC are the initials of an artist named Bianca Renee Contreres, attending the Art Institute of Chicago in the fall semester of ‘09 to further her craft and passion for photography. She has always been intrigued by things that tend to be overlooked and forgotten about and believes that with a picture we can maintain what is beautiful.

Photography, in my world is fascinating in that it keeps life still and captures what was live and had sound then silences that moment in time. I feel that often we cannot visually depict what is unique because we are not focused due to the distraction of sound that tells us difference is other or should be classified as outcast. I say frame your own brilliance, create your own sound, and write your own life forever and always.
