Vampire Weekend heralding from Nyc describes their type of music as “Upper West Side Soweto”. Recently appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman and dropping their debut self-titled album ‘Vampire Weekend’ in late Jan 08, the buzz has been growing for the group. I am a little late on the VP bandwagon, but Ive been listening to the whole album and its pretty decent - something fresh. They tie in some punk and influences of popular African music.
