Study break!

Lily Allen - “The Fear” - One more Brit with a taste for satire, one more song about high fashion and frivolous, vain celebrity. But Lily Allen brings an honesty along with all of the production that makes this song believable as well enjoyable. It’s something all of us “weapons of massive consumption” can appreciate.

The Gaslight Anthem - “The Patient Ferris Wheel” - In case you’re unfamiliar with The Gaslight Anthem, they’re one of the most notable new punk rock bands around. Think The Killers meets The Lawrence Arms. This song is thoughtful and fearless, and the backing guitars drive you recklessly through the whole scene. Makes me feel like I did before I got into college and became a sissy.

Also listen for:
The Virgins - “One Week of Danger”

Matt Klomparens: I'm the Music Director for WPGU and I'll be keeping you posted every week about all of the best new indie and alternative music to tune in for. Please feel free to let us know how you think we're sounding, and thanks for listening!
