Don’t let your mom catch you watching Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Wow. I really don’t understand how this movie isn’t getting any press at all on television or anywhere else. Maybe it is? I don’t know. I haven’t seen anything yet. It’s directed by one of my favorite directors back in the day Kevin Smith (you know….all those Jay and Silent Bob movies…he’s Silent Bob), not to mention it stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, both of the Judd Apatow gang fame. The movie, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, has gained rave reviews in the blogosphere from those who have seen early screenings of it at film festivals. Having seen Smith’s last two disappointing directing efforts, the unnecessary sequel Clerks II and the easily forgotten Jersey Girl, my faith in Kevin Smith has nearly disappeared. But from what I’ve heard from reviewers and seen from this hilarious trailer, I think that Smith is finally beginning to find his way without reverting back to his overused “Jay and Silent Bob” characters. I love those guys, but it’s time to mature as a filmmaker. Though this film doesn’t seem like it’ll be any less vulgar that his past films, the fresh idea of two roommates making a porno to pay off their rent is a step up from doing a Mallrats 2: Time for Mini-malls. I have high hopes for this movie, and know that even if it’s bad it’ll still be pretty hilarious. Check it out October 31st in a theater near you. I’m sure you’ll be in for a treat. Nice, I like that pun.

I love a lot of Kevin Smith movies. Naturally, when I saw Jersey Girl, I was incredibly disappointed. I honestly thought that it was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

I just read an early review of Zach and Miri Make a Porno It looks fricken awesome! I love Keven Smith (even Jersey Girl) and can’t wait to see it.
