Making you a movie star

posted by dawn at 9:39 am.

Be the “hey-wanna-go-see-a-movie-tonight-it’s-on-me” kinda movie star! We’ve got the hookup for up to a YEAR of free movies for you and a friend. We’re running over with free ticket offers…good ones, funny ones, and oscar-worthy ones. Take your pick:

- Turn in a Best of CU ballot at the Illini Media Building and get a pair of tickets to see American Gangster at the Virginia Theatre Reel Deals showing next week (refreshments are super cheap there too!)

- Starting Friday, Jan. 25…stop by the Illini Media Building, 512 E. Green, to pick up a pass to see the movie “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins” before it even opens! The advanced screening is at the Beverly Cinemas on January 30 @ 7PM. Just get a pass from the 2nd floor help desk.

- Put in your picks for The Daily Illini’s 16th annual OSCAR CONTEST. Find a ballot in The Daily Illini or at the Savoy 16 movie theater. Be the one to read the mind of the Academy and pick the correct winners and you’ll be sitting on a pair of free movie passes each week for the entire year!

We’ll just add to this list when we can pass on the movie love. Check back!

Please, please try.

Illini Media is looking for new staffers on all fronts. [Although you couldn’t possibly man a street team table better than Janie, Diana, and Carrie.]

Come on out to INFO NIGHT, January 17 and 23 at 7PM at the Illini Media Building, 512 E. Green St.

Staffers every year return to tell us that their experience here landed them their job. See what positions are available right now, as well as get info for positions that open up throughout the semester. Representatives will be on hand to talk about writing and page layout, ad design, sales, marketing, online and broadcast positions in The Daily Illini, Buzz, WPGU, as well as the217.com.

Give some thought before you come as to what your most interested in. We’ll be breaking off into the following groups: radio, marketing, sales, creative ad production, Daily Illini edit, Buzz edit, online, and photography.
