Hey kids! Sorry for not updating for a few days - the Convention was amazing! There was so much to see, so much to do - everything vaguely nerd was there - from Japanese designer toys to trading card games to comics. Walking around, there was so much going on you actually forget to eat and drink. You bump into famous people and realize they are human beings, or hear them speak and become more convinced they are a literary god. I’m still absorbing the events, but I’ll share with you some of the cool news I picked up.
* Stan Lee will be the editor-in-chief for Virgin Comics new super hero universe imprint, due for release in the summer of 2009.
* The third season of Venture Bros. guarantees to “put out”.
* BOOM! Studios will be releasing a Farscape comic series.
* Joe Quesada says Marvel Apes is in the works (monkey versions of Marvel heroes).
* Top Cow will be releasing a third installment of Freshmen.
* There will be a second Darkness video game.
* Neil Gaiman’s Graveyard Book will be a fantastic read for all ages.
* Frankenstein will reappear in the third issue of Grant Morrison’s Final Crisis for DC.
* Wonder Woman will come across the champion of an all-male version of the Amazon society.
* DC promises the continuity of their series will make sense in time.
I met Seth Green, Mike Mignola, Jerry Ordway, Steve Niles, Sean McKeever, Thomas Sniegoski, Mark Waid, Holly Black, David Lloyd, C.B. Cebulski, and others. I saw Grant Morrison, Stan Lee, Neil Gaiman, Dan Slott, Christos N. Gage, Keith Giffen, Gail Simone, Dan DiDio, Joe Quesada, Phil Hester, Ron Marz, and so many others talk. I attended various panels about the future of Virgin, DC, Marvel, and Top Cow, and got to get my picture taken with all the costumed individuals walking the floors. It was well worth the trip, and even though I didn’t get to see all of New York City, I was able to slip out to see Avenue Q.
The best part is, I’ve made enough contacts I’ll be able to bring you, the reader, some great news in the future.
Until then!

I've been reading comics since high school and one day I would like to write them. My goal is to expose readers to what is out there in the world of comics and using my English powers, show what is worth reading or not. I can be reached at buzz.comics@gmail.com.
