Ludo Down
Ludo is one of those popular unknown bands. You can find hardcore, really intense fans all across campus, but outside of this close-knit cult, few know of this pop-punk emo band. They have come to the Canopy Club several times in the past year.
With the release of their sophomore (technically) album, “You’re Awful, I Love You”, today that may soon change. Featuring the singles “Love Me Dead” and “Drunken Lament” which have been featured on the band’s Myspace page, these songs are similar to the self-titled first CD. These are broken love songs full of pop culture references.
The band is planning to turn their “Broken Bride EP”, a rock opera about time travel and the Apocalypse, into a comic book.
Matt Knicl: My name is Matt Knicl. I'm a U of I alumn and one of those unemployed English majors Garrison Keillor likes to make fun of. I've been reading comics since high school and one day I would like to write them. My goal is to expose readers to what is out there in the world of comics and using my English powers, show what is worth reading or not. I can be reached at buzz.comics@gmail.com.
