Cable & Deadpool #50

Cable & Deadpool #50 (Marvel) - The end! Deadpool’s series ends, but hopefully with his inclusion in Wolverine: Origins and plans to reprint old Deadpool appearances in Deadpool Classic Vol. 1 TPB we will see more of the merc with the mouth.

Green Arrow/Black Canary: The Wedding TPB (DC) - The Green Arrow series has been a fun one to read - starting with Kevin Smith’s issues and continued by Judd Winick, I have enjoyed the writing and Oliver Queen’s character. The wedding thing was a whole big tie-in mess, but here all the pertinent material is collected.

Runaways #29 (Marvel) - Joss Whedon is a great writer and he would be even greater if any of his Marvel stuff came out consistently. I don’t know what is wrong with their scheduling, but both this series and Astonishing X-Men are released sporadically and always months apart. Of course, each issue is well worth the wait, but a monthly series should stay monthly.

Wonder Girl #6 (DC) - For me, this was an unexpected hit. This issue guest-stars Wonder Woman and the Teen Titans and concludes as well.

Terror, INC. #5 (Marvel) - Also ending, this MAX imprint miniseries features the decaying zombie Terror and his immortal love spat. Really, really gross but at the same time clever and innovative.

Matt Knicl: My name is Matt Knicl. I'm a U of I alumn and one of those unemployed English majors Garrison Keillor likes to make fun of. I've been reading comics since high school and one day I would like to write them. My goal is to expose readers to what is out there in the world of comics and using my English powers, show what is worth reading or not. I can be reached at buzz.comics@gmail.com.
