Classy.

posted by Carlye at 6:35 pm.

You know how seniors always have the best schedules? I’m one of them:

Tentative Fall 08 Classes

Monday: nothing.

Tuesday: Introduction to Floral Arrangement, History of Human Rights (with Tamara Chaplin, the coolest woman around), and International Health Care Systems (second eight weeks only)

Wednesday: Introduction to Floral Arrangement 8-10 am

Thursday: Same as Tuesday, without floral, and without Health Care for the first 8 weeks

Friday: nothing.

Independent Study (working it out as I speak): An extension of the magazine journalism class I took last fall that would involve either A. freelancing articles to sites and magazines or B. working on creating a website.

Total: 14-15 hours.

Oh yeah. This is gonna be a great year.

Anyone know of any good classes to take? I just need general hours, so they don’t need to satisfy any particular requirement.

Newsies!

posted by Carlye at 9:50 pm.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that things might be slow for the next few days, as I’m beginning to seriously think about starting a new website. It would be separate and unrelated to this, and the prototype I have in my head is pretty neat, but I need to lay it out before I jump into something that will overwhelm me, even though I want to start it immediately.

But, there’s news — I have a new column in Buzz! It’ll have the same name as this blog, and hopefully it will be bitchin’. I’ll repost it here every Thursday, but pick up a hard copy to get the ink-on-your-fingers feel of some cold, hard journalism at work. (Yeah right.)

Also, by next week I should have officially started two new website jobs, which I will introduce at a later time.

So, get excited for more content in a little while, even if will be linked from other sites and thangs.

I ate a half pound of cheese today,

Carlye

P(Oops)!

AEPi’s Philanthropy event, Dumps for Dollars, occurred this morning. People dropped a few bucks to get a square of a plot that a cow was roaming around on, and whoever owned the square of where a cow pooped won $500. Not only was it the most creative philanthropy I’ve heard of, it’s the funniest — my friend Brad told me that the cow escaped, and ran all the way to Green Street.

I think I would have rather seen that then have won the $500 bucks.

Five Perks To Not Having A Laptop

posted by Carlye at 12:02 pm.

(An attempt at optimism.)

5. If I can’t F12 to see what the weather is, I can wear whatever I want.

4. I have an incredibly vaild excuse for being completely spaced out and distracted from homework assignments, work deadlines, and other tasks on my To Do list.

3. Not having to do work while at home, a feeling I haven’t had since high school.

2. Allowed procrastination!

1. I get to carry a purse. Fuck you, backpack wearers!
