I’m Buying A Typewriter And Calling It A Day

posted by Carlye at 3:21 pm.

Remember how excited I was about Bento? I spent three hours today entering in all of my old Buzz Weekly contacts so I could let them know that I was no longer the music editor…AND NOW THE PROGRAM WON’T OPEN. At all. Three hours wasted, to do lists and organizational things not even viewable.

If Apple computers are supposed to be so good, why do they keep failing on me!?

Bagel & Schmear Update

posted by Carlye at 12:08 am.

Apparently, the new bagel store on Green Street is owned by two students, according to a DI article from today’s paper.

The Daily Illini providing actual unknown news, not just AP copy and pointless opinion columns? It couldn’t be! You don’t say!

Four Months Into 2008, My New Year’s Resolution Comes True

posted by Carlye at 9:24 am.

It’s practically impossible for me to organize my crazy life, so I’m buying Bento today. I’m sick of using Google, a 12-page To Do notebook on Microsoft Word and slips of paper here and there to plan out my days.

Puppy Wuv

The best part of going to Marketplace Mall is the puppy store. I need to be near-pulled out of the store, as I seriously contemplated buying a dog last time. (It looked like a pillow. It was squishy and precious and I miss it.)

Too bad I’m not good at caring for other living things.

Networking

I tapped into someone’s iTunes and got to listen to Girl Talk on the train!

You know how you wait and wait to buy a new iPod, digital camera or laptop and then when the price finally goes down you snatch it up and realize it was worth the wait?

That’s what it’s like with this blog. My eyes are closing so I’m going to go to sleep, but things have been on a delay, due to travels, and I’m not happy about it. But, by this time tomorrow, a shit ton of coverage will be posted! Local Music Awards reviews! LMA photos! Spoon review! It will be better than the launch of the iPhone, I promise. Just hold out a little longer…

I Guess We’re Doing Something Right?

posted by Carlye at 7:10 pm.

After getting more lost in Chicago on the way to the new Marc Jacobs store than any of us — including someone who lives here — could have imagined, a man walking in front of us didn’t stop turning around to stare at the four of us and walked crotch-first into a bike rack, bounced off from the force of impact and was in too much pain to form words.

That was my day.

Too Bad I Did Laundry.

There’s nothing like coming home, panicking about what to pack for Chicago this weekend…and then getting two brand new Acid Washed Deep Vs in the mail. Thanks for deciding what I’m wearing, American Apparel :)

I’m seeing Spoon on Friday for the thousandth time. I’ll have details up on Saturday, most likely. LMA/Charity coverage will be up ASAP, but since trains don’t have wireless, it might take a bit. Have a good first-half-of-weekend!

And PS — Might want to bookmark AmericanApparel.net while you’re at it. There may or may not be a familiar name on their blog soon…

Pet Peeves.

I hate it when people sing for no reason except for to show off.

I hate it when guys play guitar for the sole reason of impressing people, namely girls.

This kid was doing both at once. Loudly. (I could hear it from all the way across the Quad.)

Just because it’s warm outside doesn’t mean you can lose the inhibitions along with the down coats.
