Another Hanukkah card I received, thanks to my goofy, bearded friend Blake:
I don’t remember receiving this many well-wishes during last year’s Festival of Lights, but I’m super pleased with the influx of messages. I don’t know what it is, but it seems like being Jewish has somehow become coexistent with being “quirky” or “eccentric.” I guess that for Jewish people, it’s not just a religion — it’s a culture, too, especially because most people I know, especially myself, are not religious AT ALL. But, I’m totally down with it, because I dig funky Yiddush words, being justifiably neurotic and quoting Seinfeld more than feeling constant guilt, “praising the lord” and believing that humans came from a God cloud.
