Lionhead makes Fable 2 announcement

posted by nikki at 11:27 am.

So as it turns out, Lionhead did have an announcement to make today. Yay! In addition to the release of a new Video Diary entry, they have also finally given us a release date on the “See the Future” downloadable content for Fable 2.

“See the Future” will be available May 12th on Xbox LIVE for 560 MS Points. In addition, there will be a Multiplayer Unlocked Weekend from May 8 at 12:01 p.m. EST until May 11 at 11:59 a.m. EST, in which gamers who can’t quite justify paying for a Live Gold account can hop on their Silver accounts and play for free.

See the Future will feature new quests, new achievements, and apparently new personas for your four-legged companion. And it’s all coming in less than two weeks. I can’t wait!

For Consoles

Mow down waves of brain-gobbling zombies as you attempt to survive and uncover the horrific truth behind the origins of the House of the Dead.

Onechanbara | 360 | Wii
Legions of zombies are terrorizing the city, and, for some reason, only a super-hot vixen in a string bikini and a cowboy hat can slaughter the undead to save us all. Personally, I’d feel safer armed with a shotgun than a samurai sword but, hey, to each his own.

Deadly Creatures | Wii
Take on the vast, dangerous world of the desert from the perspective of two deadly critters with a history of giving even the most stalwart people the creeps: the scorpion and the tarantula.

Sonic’s Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection | PS3 | 360
Take a trip to down memory lane and play some titles from the good ole days of gaming, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Columns, Ecco the Dolphin and four titles from the Phantasy Star.

A hack n’ slash adventure title, in X-Blades, the heroine Ayumi must fend off innumerable monsters and imposing bosses with her power, spells, fighting tactics and her deadly Pistol Blades.

NASCAR Kart Racing | Wii
Kind of the kiddy version of NASCAR, instead of high performance racers, you get to drive… karts. Don’t get me wrong, kart racing is fun and all, but I’ll stick with Mario (and I don’t mean Andretti).

New on WiiWare

LONPOS (800 Wii Points)
Each puzzle in LONPOS revolves around a rectangular playing field of 55 spaces. Using a set of 12 pieces, the goal is to place every piece into the playing field, filling it completely. The higher the level, the more pieces you’ll need to fit correctly.

For Handhelds

My World My Way | Nintendo DS
In this RPG “with feminine appeal” (apparently because the main protagonist is a spoiled princess…), you take on the role of a Princess Elise who falls for a young adventurer… the only problem being that said adventurer isn’t interested in a princess. So, Elise sets out on an adventure of her own.

Petz Horseshoe Ranch | Nintendo DS
Haven’t they run out of animals for these games yet? Just like every other Petzs game, but with horses.

Imagine: Cheerleader | Nintendo DS
If pretending to play with horses isn’t your thing, how about pretending to be a cheerleader?

Jojo’s Fashion Show | Nintendo DS

For Consoles

Lord of the Rings: Conquest | PS3 | 360

Well, we haven’t had any mini-game collections for Wii in a little while, so I guess it’s about that time again. 24 games, including football, basketball and baseball, as well as backyard classics like lawn darts, horseshoes and Bocce ball… Really? Bocce ball? Did anyone ever actually play Bocce ball as a child?

What’s New This Week?

The list of new releases for the first full week of 2009 isn’t exactly impressive, but you might fine one or two titles that look promising. Hopefully you’ve all recovered from New Years by now and are ready to get gaming in 2009.

For Consoles

CID the Dummy | Wii | PS2

Fishing Master World Tour | Wii
Cast with the Wiimote and reel with the Nunchuck. You can fish in more than 40 locations and catch more than 200 species of fish. I’ve never really found fishing games to be all that entertaining… but then, I could say the same thing about real fishing, too.

Paws & Claws Pet Resort | Wii
Yet another pet sim game, wherein you must pamper the pets at a pet resort. Yeah…

Ultimate Shooting Collection | Wii
Essentially three shooting games in one package, Ultimate Shooting Collection includes the games Chaos Field, Radilgy, and Karous. Each is supposed to have it’s own play mechanics… sadly, no multiplayer.

Jumble Madness | Nintendo DS
You know those puzzles in the newspaper, where you rearrange letters to make coherent words? Yeah, this is the DS versions of that.

Paws & Claws Pampered Pets | Nintendo DS
This is essentially the same idea as the Paws & Claws Wii title coming this week… except this one takes place at a spa instead of a resort. *facepalm*
